Here's another old scrapbook page, I feel like I should maybe do this for every 5 year interval of my life. I made a list of things that were facts in my daily life at the time including habits and what not. Going back and reading them now most of them haven't changed and still very much apply.
I chose to use a black and white photo because the background colors were all so bright and I wanted the photo to stand out. The rest of the layout is pretty simple. The twig embellishment was raw chipboard that I colored with an ink pad and then covered with sparkling nail-polish.

I'm going to start adding a new category to this blog- contributions. This category includes contributions to this blog from other people who like to do arts/crafts types of things.
So, for the first contribution, I wanted to share this beautiful baby quilt that my sister Dr. MC made for a friend's baby. The embroidery was done using an embroidery machine and the rest of the quilting was done by machine/hand. The neutral colors work well for when you don't know the gender of a child. The end result is gorgeous and it's definitely a keepsake for the baby.
Thank you for all of your comments and entries on the 1 year blog giveaway, all that love and support is amazing! As promised, I did the draw for the giveaway this morning. I wrote everyone's names on little sheets of paper, folded them up, and then randomly drew three names. So, the winners of the draw are:
Congratulations guys, I will be contacting all three of you shortly to get contact info and send out the goodies!
I spent a little time face painting again over the weekend. These kiddies got to pick what they wanted to be and I went ahead and tried to paint it. The first one is just clouds and rainbows.
These two lovely twins chose to have a butterfly, and some swirly designs painted on their faces.
The next two little guys wanted to be a tiger and batman. I have to say that I really enjoyed the tiger face paint.
And last, but not least, we have a princess and wonder woman.
Here is another scrapbook page, this one is of a 7 week old baby girl. I wanted to journal some of her cute little habits and personality traits that she had at that age in order to preserve the memories. I did so by writing around the perimeter of the elements on the page.
The rest of the page is fairly simple, it's mostly the layout that makes the page. This was double-sided scrapbook paper and I chose to expose the other side by folding a corner over at the top as well as cutting an entire strip across the width of the page, turning it over, and gluing it down. You will always notice a lot of inking around the edges of both my page and many of the elements on the page, this not only adds dimension but also gives the elements a more distressed look.
