Here’s one way that art journaling can be therapeutic….I wrote whatever was behind this picture years and years ago. I think there were some pretty heavy and dark words on this page. I then went ahead and glued on this gorgeous photo and added henna patterns to make the page beautiful. Also, the private words and journaling get concealed so that you can process through your emotions and get them out in writing but they’re still private- as no one can read what you’ve written.
The point of this exercise was to take something dark and blue (emotionally) and transform it into something beautiful. So now, every time I see this page I know that even though something bad was going on at the time- I’m reminded that bad times can be turned into something beautiful.
