Painting

Monochromatic Watercolor Forest

It was fun to work in just one color, and the result was a super moody forest scene. The key when working with one color is to vary the lights and darks as well as the pigment to water ratio spread throughout the composition.

I’ve been loving working inside circles, this is a natural way to add a frame around your image. I always draw the circle in super lightly with a protractor and pencil first and then decide later on if I want to outline it or not. In this case I did outline the circle, but only at the very end when the rest of the painting was complete.
