Sheikh Zayed Mosque

This beautiful mosque is located in Abu Dhabi, I haven’t been to it since construction was completed but years ago on a trip to the east I remember driving past it on a hazy day and it looked like a dream. It was almost a silhouette on the skyline and the sheer size of it was amazing. I’d love to be able to go back and see it some day soon.

This 2 foot by 2 foot painting was done as a commissioned piece, I became so attached to it that I put it up in my home for a while before telling it’s owner that it’s ready to be picked up. There’s some pearly/shimmering elements on the mosque that shine when the light hits it at the right angles. It’s been a popular piece at some of my more recent shows this year as well.
