    Unicorn Goodies

    I made a table full of unicorn goodies for my niece’s first birthday. This isn’t really a recipe post, I just wanted to share what I made. I took a shortcut and used cookie mix and cake mix, so everything wasn’t really made from scratch. I really wanted to focus my efforts on the visual look of everything. The sugar cookie mix was delicious I’m not a fan of sugar cookie icing from a tube though.     Painted Pumpkins- with some Bling

    Decorating pumpkins isn’t just for Halloween, with pumpkins in season it’s nice to embellish them in a non-spooky way for fall decorations around the house.  Here’s a little bunch of mini pumpkins that were really easy to make and look super cute. I started off with some mini pumpkins. Then using a few coats of white acrylic paint I covered the pumpkins along with their stems and let them dry before bling-ing them out. I covered the stems in mod-podge and then sprinkled them with silver sparkles.  This first pumpkin was made using sequins.     Painted Wooden Birdhouses

    I wanted to share these cute little miniature bird houses.  They’re made of wood and I painted them into bright spring like colors then varnished the little houses in order to protect them from the environment. For some reason, the little striped roofs remind me of Dr. Seuss…I’m not exactly sure why, but they do.

    Dresser Makeover

    Another contribution from the one and only Dr. MC.  This time she decided to take an old dresser and refinish it with a coat of bright red paint. You will notice that the paint is nice and thin which allows for the natural pattern of the wood to still show through. This is the completed look. She’s put it in a room and used it to display artwork that she’s created.  I think the little rabbit may have been painted by her husband.  This is a great way to display art or even photographs.
